Citrus United Basket, Inc. (C.U.B.) is a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization. C.U.B. was created in 1978 to assist Citrus County families facing temporary hardship. Born of an idea, C.U.B. has successfully fulfilled its mission for over 45 years.

How We Serve

Provide food, financial, and material assistance to Citrus County residents who find themselves in difficult times. Provide linens, housewares, and other items to assist those in emergency situations. Assist individuals entering the work place and school children with appropriate clothing. Offer encouragement to people who find themselves without employment, have suffered abuse, or just need help during a crisis. Also, work with other agencies in the County in an effort to provide solutions for those in the community who come to us for aid. C.U.B. annually has been able to return approximately .88 cents of every dollar received back to the community.

Food Pantry

Our Food Pantry provides non-perishable and when available, perishable food items. We also occasionally receive/purchase items to distribute on special occasions. Eligible clients can come for food once every 30 days. The pantry can also provide pet food, baby food, and personal care items (when available). Call for information.

Financial Support

Provides help with utilities and other misc. help. Call for information.

Thrift Store

Our thrift store offers an assortment of clothing, dishes, linen, kitchenware, some furniture and various other household items at a nominal cost and in emergency need, at no cost. Daily sales from our thrift store help us in continuing our mission of people helping people.

Christmas Dinner

The food pantry provides a Christmas Dinner bag to all clients during the month of December.

Toys For Tots

With the generosity of clubs, churches, organizations, businesses, and individuals in our community C.U.B. provides toys to the children of Citrus County through our Toys for Tots giveaway. C.U.B. believes that no child should wake up hungry or disappointed on Christmas morning. A birthday closet is also maintained with gifts and cake mix during the year.
